Abstract: A System of Academic Standards for Describing and Archiving of e-Learning Courses and Digital Resources: The paper presents a set of metadata (as a system of internal university standards) for the description of e-learning courses and digital resources based on ECTS, the benchmark system of the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation in Higher education, and popular standards for e-learning LOM, SCORM and IMS. The metadata set 'covers' all stages of the life cycle of the e-courses and digital resources. Correspondingly it consists of 5 (five) main parts: A. General information; B. Educational aspects; C. Summary of pilot e-learning; D. Technical description; E. Assessment. The proposed set of metadata has been tested for description of more than 100 e-course and 200 digital resources created within the project 'Plovdiv electronic university'.
